Old Friends, Good Friends

Memorial Day was the annual barbecue at Gwen Smith's. Several of us who have known each other 20 years or more get together. We don't see each other as often as we did when we were younger so this is a special occasion. We have seen each other turn gray. We have seen our children grow up.
Gwen's daughter, Marion, for example, was six years old when Gwen and I first met. Now she is a mother with an 11 month old daughter.. The other kids are all college graduates with careers but none have started families yet.
I brough photos of my first great grand child, Callie Marie Hess, who is just two moths old.
A lot of catching up to do for much can happen in a year. And, of course, a lot of memories were
recalled.
What better way to spend Memorial day!
